Letters & Questions

Hi, Tom again.

I hope I'm not a bother, but I thought I'd ask the regular visitors to
the site a question.

I need a few themes for NPCs.
Here are the systems I'm capable of writing up a character in...

Fuzion
White Wolf (World Of Darkness)
Rifts
Heroes Unlimited
Tri-Stat (Big Eyes, Small Mouth)
Shadowrun
Cyberpunk

Maybe if the viewers are helpful, they could also say WHAT system they'd like me to write the NPCs in? I hope you can get this plea out to the public.
-CUL8TR

Well folks? Any ideas? Send them to gherity@tcfreenet.org

Thanks!

Hello! Its been a long time since I popped my head up and said howdy! Anyway, several of us on the a 7th Sea newsgroup  (www.onelist.com/community/7thSeaGamingAide) have been kicking around the  idea of using Neverwinter Nights (an upcoming cfrpg based on WoTC's/TSR's  Third Edition D&D rules) as a vehicle to run a 7th Sea RPG variant. It will take some doing, but it is entirely possible.

I was wonder if anyone has thought of using this vehicle/engine/medium to run other games as well. I know that there are some inherent problems with conversion of the games to the D20 system, but I think that it would be well worth it.

One of the other systems I would love to see sprout up would be Call of  Cthulhu. Now that WoTC have the rights to produce a Call of Cthulhu RPG with  the D20 system, it would be incredibly easy. Just thinking about placing The  Dreamlands, Kingsport, Innsmouth, Arkham, London, Cairo, etc., etc., online as vibrant gaming 'realms' gives me chills and makes me want to get started  right away!

If anyone has any suggestions, questions, etc. then please email me (draeven57@yahoo.com) for further discussion. By the way, Neverwinter Nights can be found at www.neverwinternights.com . Read the faqs. Check it out. It  is going to be pretty cool and apparently VERY versatile...
Good gaming,
Russell Thorp

Nice to see you back, Russell! Let's see if any of our visitors and/or members have anything to contribute to your cause!

Thanks for the excellent Throwing Stones dice summary.  I've been looking for something like that for quite some time.  :)

zo.

Glad that we could help! And thank you for writing! It's always nice to get feedback (especially when it's good!)

I have a problem.

I've just found out, one of my favorite RPG chat rooms is shutting down. Perhaps you could send a shout out on your page, asking if anyone knows of other RPG chat rooms on the net that are text-based, real time, non java/ICQ style rooms accessible with a text based browser? I know it's asking a lot, but with help, I might be able to find myself a new chatting home.

If anyone has any information, please email me directly so I can send the message to TG. guild_master@nggnet.com and please enter CHAT as the subject. Thank you all!

I hope that this helps, TG!

UPDATE:
I found someone that is taking in "refugees" from netcentral chat.
it's bigbob's web chat (http://www.bigbob.com ) I hope you are kind
enough to relay the address to other members! They may like it there too!

Hi, I have been an avid gamer for the past 2 years. I am a part of a regular gaming group that plays mostly AD&D. I was wondering what other good RPGs are out there. I have played the Palladium, Shadowrun, Wheel of Time, and Cyberpunk systems, and each has its own strengths and weaknesses. Can you give me a list of other popular systems? Also, I wanted to know if the White Wolf games are any good. Also, I remember that there was a Lord of the Rings RPG from way back, do you know if that is any good? Thanks.

-Andrew

What other good RPG's are out there? There are plenty! Other popular systems are, as you were wondering, White Wolf's RPG's. There is plenty there to keep you interested! How about Legend of the Five Rings RPG? I have heard wonderful things about that system. There's Deadlands, Star Wars, and one that you were wondering about - Middle Earth Role-Playing. This one, I have not played, but have heard WONDERFUL things about. One thing to note on that one though - ICE (Iron Crown Enterprises) is no longer holding the license to make Middle Earth products. However, there is a movie in the works, and after that we should expect an onslaught of ME games.

Keep your eye on the NGG in the future, Andrew. If you are a member you will soon be able to participate in the Members-Only discussion group where you can ask people these questions to everyone out there and they can give you plenty of info and answer more specific questions as well. I know that I am looking forward to that!

Hello:
My son was wondering if you had any information on Warhammer.  He is getting started.
Thank You.

Thank you for writing!
Right now we have limited information on Warhammer. We are looking to expand on this, of course. This game (and it's futuristic version Warhammer 40k) are very popular and very fun. Keep your eyes on us in the future and if anyone out there would be willing to submit some materials on Warhammer, that would be great!

Dear NGG:

I am a film and multimedia music composer and teacher. I am looking for local sources of information and networking regarding computer games and game production to integrate into my school's career outreach programs for our students. Would NGG be a good place to find people who are involved in producing games locally? I am very interested in developing strategic alliances with local game producers. Also, when and what is NGG Game Day? Thanks in advance for any response you might care to send along.
Sincerely
Robert Gurrola.

I know that there are a few game producers in MN. Unfortunately, we don't have much information on them. The only one that I know of well is Atlas Games (http://www.atlas-games.com). Give them a try. I will see if I can find out any more information for you.

UPDATE - you also might want to check out Fantasy Flight Games - they are local  and are a bunch of nice fellows!

NGG Game Day is the third Sunday of EVERY month! Stop by to learn new games, teach others your favorite games, or just come to watch the fun! It's a shame that it's only once a month! More information.
