This rifle represents Bishop's anchoring into the security business as an arms dealer as the rifle itself provides immediated long-distance backup without needing the sniper setup itself. Given to the newly dusted and re-introduced "grunts", the BAC-FLIR was the kind of hardware that allowed shock troops back onto the offensive at it can be seen as a fairly versatile ambush weapon.

With this kind of hardware, corporations could now hit back at the teams of shadowrunners which kept coming and going by offering the possibility of ambushes.

Accessories
The BAC-FLIR accepts no accessories as all the spaces on the rifle are used to house the various systems used on the rifle itself.
