The Chinese Zodiac contains many animals that years are named for. These animals have special signifigance for each year, each animal having a difference influence upon the events of the year. The Year of the Dragon, the Year of the Ram, the Year of the Rat, all of these have been repeated throughout history, and during each of them, the namesake of the year has had profound effect upon the year itself.

This year, however, is the year of something not mentioned on any zodiac. Something that will have a special signifigance, something that will have a direct influence upon not only events, but every living person in the entire world. Something that will bring about more than just a change in seasons, more than a change in the political climate. Something that did not care about religion, race, political leanings or personal philosophy.

This year, is the Year of the Zombie.

Year of the Zombie is a campaign template for d20 games set in current times or the near future, that can have slight effects that are quietly silenced and hidden from the general public, or world changing events that will forever change the lives of those who survive depending on the wishes of those participating in the campaign. Decipher To Continue LOTR Role-Playing Releases!
Decipher Inc., a leading manufacturer of licensed gaming products, has announced that they will continue releasing supplemental products for The Lord of the Rings Role-playing Game.

"Changes in our internal workings, as well as changes in the current RPG market caused us to delay and re-evaluate several products that had been scheduled for a 2003 and 2004 release," said Scott Gaeta, Sr. VP of Decipher’s Creative Studio. "Our role-playing customers let us know they wished the line to continue, and we're happy to announce today that it will. We understand their frustration and appreciate their patience while we sorted out the necessary details.”

The first release is the Helm’s Deep Sourcebook and will be available June 2005. From that point forward, players can look for a new release every eight weeks or so.

"We appreciate the loyal fans of Decipher's RPG properties that have made them so popular," Gaeta said, referring to the 2003 Origins Award The Lord of the Rings RPG Core Book received for Best New Role-playing Game. "We feel that the writing, art, and playability of Decipher RPGs create a memorable gaming event for our customers. The Lord of the Rings is the standard from which all popular fantasy gaming was born so there’s a lot of pressure to make sure that we do it right."

Decipher released The Lord of the Rings RPG Core Book in 2003, earning the 2003 Origins Award for Best New Role-playing Game. Based on the proprietary CODA system, players can play characters or situations from the film trilogy or create their own. Subsequent releases included The Fellowship of the Ring Sourcebook, The Two Towers Sourcebook, Fell Beasts and Wondrous Magic, as well as two Role-playing Adventure Game boxed sets for new players. There have also been several popular Maps of Middle-earth sets drawn by Weta illustrator Daniel Reeve, which feature beautifully detailed maps of the geography of Middle-earth, maps of the major cities, and even the fallen Dwarf stronghold of Moria.

White Wolf Loved By Inquest Readers, Origins Officials
